Balenciaga Shipyard has secured a contract with Samlaks AS for the construction of a new Processing Vessel.
This new build of Balenciaga Shipyard increases its orderbook to six Vessels.
The main factory and the processing equipment will be delivered by Stranda Prolog AS and Optimar AS, and is built in order to maximize efficiency, secure optimal hygiene and quality of the fish. The vessel will have 6 slaughtering lines, and the factory has a harvesting capacity of 120t per hour. Regarding refrigerated tank capacity of the vessel is 600m³.
Both main engine and generators in the vessel has been designed/selected thinking in future requirements for the shipping sector, so called IMO tier III. The vessel will in addition be prepared for future battery and hydrogen hybrid solutions. At the moment the owner is in the process of choosing which hybrid solution the vessel shall have at delivery.
This vessel will contribute to the environmental footprint with reduced emissions, reduced waste, improved fish welfare and reduced contamination risk through harvesting the fish on site and closed transportation.
The new build has been designed in cooperation by Maritime Engineering AS and Artic Group AS.
